neopolitan and spumoni are references to favorite desserts. neopolitan's chocolate, vanilla and strawberry and spumoni's chocolate, vanilla and pistachio all translate beautifully into glass colors. living in my imagination are several pieces to be made using neopolitan and spumoni as reference points.
scarfthis first piece in the neopolitan collection presents the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry in an unexpected dimension. when I finished the composition, I realized the layout and patterning of the colors resembled several favorite Italian scarves. the piece has now been shaped with a custom built mold to achieve the final shape - a rippled scarf. the stand is custom designed powder coated steel. the powder coating color is espresso - seems appropriate since the piece resembles Italian scarves!
